Checking out dispensaries is one of my favorite ways to spend time. I love seeing how they stand out from the rest: their aesthetic, offerings, and customer service. When I headed out on my road trip last summer, I knew I wanted to check out as many dispensaries as possible. British Columbia is known for its bud so it’s no surprise that there was no shortage of options.
Stop #1: Indigenous Bloom, Osoyoos, BC
I had never been to a legacy dispensary before so I was really looking forward to checking out Indigenous Bloom in Osoyoos. They aim to provide First Nations and Indigenous communities with the opportunity to grow and sell cannabis.

They had so many different products I wanted to try but my sweet tooth lead me to the cookies. They tasted SO good and didn’t have a limit of 10mg per unit, which was a nice change.

Stop #2: Cannabis Cottage, Penticton, BC
The Cannabis Cottage in Penticton was the coziest and cutest dispensary I’ve ever visited. This family-owned spot is a converted heritage home built in 1914. As you walk up to the front entrance, you’re greeted by sunflowers and a sunroom. The sunroom is full of plants, artwork, and comfy couches.

The vibe made you feel at home right away and had me daydreaming of having a similar sunroom as a smoke room. The wood accents and stained glass windows inside made me feel like I was back in the Glebe in Ottawa. The budtender was super friendly, knowledgeable and took the time to talk to me about the shop.

Stop #3 : Blooming World, Radium Hot Springs, BC
Blooming World in Radium Hot Springs was another favorite. It had this fun jungle and wizard/gnome theme that was like no other. Everything in the store was made by their team or someone local, which is a really great way to support local business owners. I think it’s what makes this place so special.

The care that goes into their product descriptions is what stood out the most. Each cultivar had an info sheet that was thought out and playful – I could tell that this was something they took pride in, which I loved.

What’s your favourite dispensary in BC? Leave a comment with their store name and why you love them. Maybe I’ll visit them this summer!
