As we alerted readers in our feature on Msiku in Volume 2 a new cultivar has landed in the Canadian recreational cannabis market that challenges our idea of “best in class.”
In our opinion ICC x Kush Mints 11 (or just ‘Kush Mints’ as most are calling it for short) is first in class across the board. Only a few other producers can claim the attention to detail Msiku gives to its operations. The genetics were created in the United States by the Seed Junky team and as the name indicates it’s a cross of Ice Cream Cake and Kush Mints. In this case we believe the ’11’ at the end of the cultivar name indicates it was the eleventh test sample in the pheno-hunt that was chosen for cloning and ongoing production.
Tim Nolan, Msiku’s Director of Operations, came from the Colorado market. The use of these seeds and the introduction of new genetics that challenges existing palates are two signs of his influence.
Bright white trichomes coat verdant green bracts all tightly stacked atop one another. Under the scope the density, clarity and stalk length of the trichomes would make any hashmaker’s wheels start turning. The nose is orange creamsicle with an uplifting but faint peppermint twang on the tail end. The effects become apparent within minutes and are absolutely worth the spend.
