Acapulco Gold by Jonny Chronic is a smooth sativa that produces an uplifting high and carries a hoppy, lemon zest aroma.
Grown by some great folks in Thorndale, Ontario, this cannabis cultivar is typically rare but has shown up in both legal and legacy markets in recent years. The parent company of Jonny Chronic is JC Green Cannabis. We wrote a few extra sentences about them in a previous review and we’ve covered them in our last two issues because of their consistently high quality product at reasonable prices.
Johnny Chronic’s relative underdog status in terms of brand awareness belies their attention to detail when it comes to their product. The best brands build their foundation in this way and that’s why we keep our eyes on them. With unique cultivars, an interesting backstory and a passion evident in their product, Jonny Chronic is a Canadian weed grower worth watching.
This Acapulco Gold crushed our expectations. Despite the soft packaging, the trichomes hadn’t been too damaged. A very yellow-green golden hue interspersed with bright orange pistils greeted us on cracking open our first nug.
Butter smooth smoke laced with notes of dark cocoa and lemon zest streamed up from a properly rolled joint and the next hour became the most productive of the day.
