Pure Luxury. Pure Kush.Coast Mountain Cannabis (CMC) was recommended by a reader after we announced this year’s Most Rooted Top 10 Canadian Cannabis Producers. The opportunity to try it came when we saw it on the menu at Roll’d Cannabis in Kanata, which was one of the first dispensaries to carry Stash.
At $49.99 we expected high quality cannabis and Coast Mountain sent it hard. Weed this good is extremely difficult to find. Period. Even in legacy channels I don’t see anything of this quality. My current medical supplier should be worried I’ll switch to these folks.
Grown organically—which means no chemical fertilizers and no artificial pesticides—in Pemberton, British Columbia, this flower glistened with bulbous, juicy trichomes. According to their website, CMC’s Organic Pemberton Pink is a cross of OG Kush (King) and Afghan Kush.
The aroma from the glass jar presented a soft, gassy and sweet vanilla profile. Pure luxury. Pure Pink Kush. Crisp edges of perfectly cured sugar leaves broke off as though I were finger-trimming home grown cannabis. Press a little on the bud and the bounce back will make you a believer. My fingers became tacky after rolling but because of their incredible post-harvest processing (which we will definitely ask them about for Volume 4) the absolutely perfect burn prevented a gummy build-up of resin in my filter.
Under the scope the real power of those post-harvest processes became evident. Those same trichomes which were visible with the naked eye now filled my lens with forests of nodding, clear globes bashing and melting with one another. Everywhere I pointed the scope trichomes marched on relentlessly. Easiest photoshoot ever.
Next time Coast Mountain’s flower crosses my path I’m going to exercise the necessary amount of restraint to press it into some rosin. I don’t think it will take much to get a few nice dabs out of this jar.
